The Calgary Flames have traded veteran centre Daymond Langkow to the Phoenix Coyotes pending a physical.

Langkow, who will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2011-12 season, is scheduled to make $4.5M.

There is no word yet on what Calgary will get back in the deal.

The Coyotes really needed some help at center, but I really don`t like this deal all that much. Langkow`s pretty much done and I really don`t think he can give them much.

And Calgary's getting Lee Stempniak back from the Coyotes. I'm really not liking this deal.

Calgary Flames blueprint: Acquire as many (former) Maple Leafs as possible.

I really expected the Coyotes to go after a Buffalo forward, since they are over the cap; someone like Gaustad or Hecht.
