Thoughts and prayers out for Brett MacLean and his family. Horrible to have a cardiac issue pop up on you at such a young age. Just hope he pulls through and lives a productive and happy life. Whether or not hockey is in his future is irrelevant. Keep fighting Brett!

Well crap! Tuomo Ruutu recently had hip surgery and will be out for the Hurricanes until at least May. That really hurts the Canes.

Canes are in a deal making mode right now. They trade with Kings for Kevin Westgarth to get some toughness. Sent Kings Anthony Stewart and a 2013 4th and 2014 6th. But they need Westgarth's toughness. Then they trade with the Flyers to get Luke Pither. Young man with some potential. Sent the Flyers Boucher and Alt. Canes trying to position themselves for a strong 2013 season.
