Blues Fire Davis Payne

ESPN.com - The Blues have changed coaches after a disappointing 6-7 start, firing Davis Payne and hiring Ken Hitchcock to a contract through next season, according to anESPN.com report on Sunday.
The 40-year-old Payne was the second-youngest coach in the NHL but got only one full season with St. Louis after being hired in January 2010.

Somehow, Scott Arniel wasn't the first coach fired. And all I have to say to this one is:

Not only was Arniel not fired, but his apparent replacement gets hired by a division rival - awesome. Columbus, as an organization, is so screwed up. St. Louis on the other hand, has a boatload of talent, and should be a playoff team. I expect a big turnaround with Hitch at the helm.

This is a good decision. Hitchcock brings a great deal of respect to the locker room, I'm surprised nobody jumped on him sooner.

Good move by the Blues. Hitch should be able to turn that team around.
