Best backup in the league?

Post#1 » by Nolan » Sat Nov 19, 2011 4:12 am

Seems like this year has been the year of the backup goalie. Guys like Enroth, Elliot, Schneider, Montoya, Greiss, Rask and Dubynk have really stepped out of the shadows this year and really proven themselves.

So who's the best backup?

At this point i'd point Enroth ahead of those two. He's been amazing since Miller's concussion.

I think Scott Clemmensen could be in the discussion if he can stay healthy.

Yep he was excellent a couple years ago. But he's going to have a tough time getting more PT in Florida with Theodore and Markstrom there.

Another guy flying under the radar is JS Giguere. knows his role as a backup and serves as a mentor to Varlamov.
