Commissioner Gary Bettman announced Saturday that Nationwide Arena would be the next host for the game.

The news comes at a time when the Blue Jackets sit last in the NHL standings.

"It's a piece of good news," Blue Jackets general manager Scott Howson said. "We haven't had much good news this year."

It will be the first major NHL event in the city since the 2007 draft.

Personally I think its a horrible idea its the same thing they did in 08' with Atlanta. Try and help out a struggling franchise by giving them the All-Star game.

Thoughts?

It's a fanbase that has only recently stopped coming to games that needs a boost. Completely fine with it.

Columbus does have a good fan base, they just hate the management team in place. Sucks for the players as it isnt glamorous, but it will still be packed.
