2013 Winter Classic discussion

Post#1 » by OldNo7 » Fri Feb 10, 2012 12:16 am

Great matchup between two original six teams, but the worst news is Yzerman is already saying he isn't playing without giving a reason? My favourite of all time...come on Stevie, don't lose your class.

This is beyond awesome and I'm stoked. I mean good grief there are 115,000 tix for sale! This isn't just one game either...multiple rinks for multiple outdoor games for days up until the big one. I bet we get a UM-MSU and a Griffens-Marlies game, not to mention the other various high school, college and junior game possibilities. And Detroit gets a huge influx of visitors and people, giving the economy a nice little boost and Detroit some much deserved love.

As you can tell, I'm pretty happy with the news.

Great idea. I might actually buy a couple tickets for this and fly out.

I'm only three hours away but there is absolutely no way I can afford this, based on what previous WC tickets went for.

How much are they? I am in the heart of Toronto and I am going if I can snag a ticket under $200ish. I mean this is a once in a life time thing that I want to be a part of. Too bad all the alumni stuff is at Comerica Park

It'll be a decent amount, but there will also be 115,000 tickets available. Lack of seats available has driven up the price in the past.

At one point I heard the lowest price in Philadelphia was around $400. Hope I am wrong.

Having just watched The Life and Times of Gordie Howe on a flight 2 weeks ago I'm hoping he's able to play in the alumni game

Without a doubt the ovation that man receives will be the highlight of the week

Should be really cool to see one of these played in a huge football game. Leafs vs. Red Wings will be an awesome matchup also. Really can't wait!

Public warning. Stop the spaming.

If they can make the game on the 2nd, I'll be there for sure. On the 1st, it's going to be really tough. What, about a 4 hour drive (plus customs) to get there, and you can't really book a hotel the night before (NYE prices).

But man, it's going to be a hell of a game.
