To be honest, I woke up to TSN's headline which read that Minnesota was going to sign them both, and the first thing that came to my mind was "good for them". They have such an awesome hockey market there, and with the two of them, they're going to have a heck of a team. I'm glad Minnesota signed them, and teams like Detroit and the Rangers didn't.

Huge day for the Wild franchise. Glad to see both guys go to the Wild, that team has such a great fanbase they deserve a winner.

Good job by the Wild to land them both.

They're pretty much set up front now. With a top six of Parise, Koivu, Setoguchi, Granlund, Heatley, and Marc Bouchard and a couple great grinders in Brodziak, Konopka, Powe and Clutterbuck.

If they can add a veteran defenseman or two they can be a very dangerous team next year.

Heatley is a bit of a cancer for me, the guy has all the talent to be a top 10 talent but his ego is too much for my liking. I think The Wild have to be a top 3 team on paper righty now they have firepower for days now if they can get it together and play like a team.

Detroit might be a team that misses this playoff's if we don't do something and looking at the names left there isn't anybody good left

I don't know anything about the NHL; can someone give me Suter and Parise's NBA comparison so I can get an idea of what level of players they are?

Their defense is still garbage, but this is huge for them. If they can turn Heatley into anything on defense, they'll be awesome next season.

Wild are not a top 3 team, their defense is still really bad. They need to add 2 more back there.

That's this year. They'll have Cullen, Backstrom and Bouchard coming off the books next year for a combined cap hit of almost 14 million dollars. Give it time, they'll be fine.

Carle to Tampa, 6 years 33M. Great signing for them, another missed opportunity for Detroit. Quite depressing offseason so far for my Wings.

Minnesota should be a top 8 team this season, keep in mind how terrible the Northwest is. Should be be able to pick up two points more often than not against Calgary, Edmonton and Colorado.

Probably something around James Harden and Lamarcus Aldridge. They aren't superstars, but are high enough at their positions to be called top flight and stars. Or let's put it this way, they can be the best forward and best defensemen on a championship team if the depth is right

Minnesota is not a top 3 team. That would mean they would have to jump Vancouver in the standings. That's not going to happen this season. They should definitely be a playoff team this year. Give some 2nd line minutes this year to Spurgeon and Scandella and wait for Brodin and Dumba and the defense should be set.

This was necessary for the Wild though to get at least one. They had a huge sellout streak that was broken about a year ago because the team had been so bad. Getting two top free agents to sign mainly because they wanted to be close to home was the biggest no brainer ever for them.

Hurricanes no longer after Nash. CBJ insisted on Jeff Skinner in the deal, and that was a non starter for the Canes. Oh well.

Think that pissed off the Canes. Raleigh says that they told the Jackets Skinner was not going to be a part of any deal, and apparently the Jackets led them to believe that was not going to be an issue. But then they started to insist on it, and the Canes just dropped their pursuit all together. Nash had not yet agreed to the Canes being on his list he would waive his No Trade Clause for anyway, so may have never come to much anyway. But rumors were Nash was considering adding them to his list. Oh well. time for my Canes to move on to the next trade discussion.

Super disappointed to miss on Suter/Parise. Big blow for the Wings, I won't lie; we had our eggs in one basket and struck out.

Barring a trade for a star, I don't feel very good about the team right nkw

Canes sign Defensman Marc Andre Gragnani to a 1 yr $800,000 deal. Have no idea who this kid is other than what I found. 25 yr old, drafted 3rd round by Buffalo in 2005.

It's a two way contract so he might be depth in Charlotte.
