Given their lack of success in the playoffs the last couple years it surprising.
PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Penguins are making a major change after another disappointing playoff performance.
The team has fired general manager Ray Shero.
There were reports that head coach Dan Bylsma was also going to be let go, but Penguins CEO David Morehouse says that is not the case.
Assistant general manager Jason Botterill will take over as interim general manager until a new GM is hired.
Given their lack of success in the playoffs the last couple years it surprising.
