While the Flames declined to comment when contacted by TSN today, sources confirm Keenan is currently in Calgary and if all goes as expected, the well-traveled NHL executive and coach could be announced as the head coach of the Flames as early as Thursday.

Before the bashing begins like on alot of other sites I have seen.... this guy is not the GM. Sutter stays the GM.
Sutter IMO will be monitoring this to make sure Huselius isnt badly treated.

I personally like this move for one reason, we have one year left for a run. All of our core is up for free agency at the end of next year and all of them will be commanding steady raises. Keenan will come in and put his foot down on the lackluster performances and be gone by this time next year. He immediately demands perfection. You're held accountable for your actions no matter who you are. The only thing I worry about is; what implications does this have on us attracting free agents? Most players don't look at Keenan as a coach they've liked.

well i mean if we were rebuilding he is the man. When he can set his system inn to young players they win but witht the flames now his system can't be tought. Keenan is right for this.
If we sign Smyth expect for us to be rebuilding very soon.
