The Penguins and the Sabres will play in Ralph Wilson Stadium in the so-called "Ice Bowl" on NEW YEAR'S DAY 2008.
Good idea for it to be on New Year's Day?

The NHL should do more than 1. They should do this matchup along with the Original 6 Matchups. Put the games on Versus and NBC.

I thought it was sold out at first but they still have 30,000 tickets left for bills, blue jays season ticket holders. Why the blue jays, not a clue. Plus the Pens are trying to get more for their season ticket holders since they only got 1200.

It got worse when rumour had it that subscribers to not only the Toronto Maple Leafs but also the Toronto Blue Jays had been given preferential treatment and special passwords to gobble up ducats online.
This wasn't quite the case. Another 30,000 or so seats

Clever. Hook unsuspecting baseball-loving Canadians on the game, then before you know it you'll create a hotbed dying for the game in urban Toronto. They'll never see it coming.
Seriously, didn't the NHL do this for American exposure (the same reason they do everything nowadays)? Or am I missing something here? Because if I'm not, then this borders on completely inexplicable

Should have been Rangers/Islanders at Giant's Stadium.

Aren't the Penguins involved in this game? The Penguins and Sabres should have been given the majority of the tickets. Not the Toronto Maple Leaf and Blue Jay fans. The NHL screwed this up bad.
well a large portion of the Sabres crowds are people from Toronto who can't get tickets to a Leaf game. So it makes sense for the Leafs, not sure about the Jays though.
