Bernier/Kings

Post#1 » by Griff83 » Sat Sep 29, 2007 10:15 pm

Bernier was really good in his first NHL start and the Kings looked very solid in all aspects. Like I said in another thread if the Kings get decent goaltending this year they will be a playoff team in the West.

Rookie goalies are kinda like rookie pitching in baseball... they're good for the first bit, but once players start getting a book on them then they have to show what they're really made of by adjusting

Even so, not many 19 year old look as good in the first NHL game as Bernier did today.

Bernier was good, but he wasn't tested that often. Also while I do believe he could be great, anyone remember Brian Boucher?

He and the Kings have looked really good so far. Bernier looked very comfortable for a rookie goalie and he looked like he was a good time. But we'll see how he performs after the thrill of being in the NHL wears off.
