I know alot people think the enforcers are a bad thing and give hockey a bad image. But since they changed the rules i've been seeing alot more dirty hits and alot more guys getting away with them. Its time to bring back the enforcer. Colin Cambell can only do so much form his office the game needs policing from with in.

I would love nothing more than for enforcers to show up more. I think its players helping to policethe game, and frankly, helps draw ratings.

Hell even Detroit (the anti-enforcer team since McCarty left) is keeping Aaron Downey up to play. So who knows, maybe this year there will be more.

David Koci of the Blackhawks also seems to be bringing that role back.... pretty much all he's useful for... i think he got in a fight last night (didn't see the game but in the stats he had 5 PIM)

He fought Boogaard, who is one tough cookie, and actually won imo. Koci is definetly doing his part

Enforcers are needed in the game, period.

Do they act as a detterent to the Steve Downie's of the world? Of course they do. Do players think twice about doing something stupid, when they know othey have a Boogard sitting on the bench waiting to get their hands on them? I'd think so.

Enforcers don't police the game, but they do help in some situations. You want your star players to be protected.

I like Calgary's decision to keep Godard around. Last year before he was recalled Iginla and Dion were the dropping the gloves to stick up for the rest of the team. They need to be out on the ice. The game needs the godards, boogards, Laraque's and the koci's to keep the cheat shots to a minimum. However the days of an enforcer not being able to skate are gone. At least have a tough guy that can attempt to play the game.
