Whats the deal with Naslund?

Hes the captain of the team and the best pure sniper the Canucks have but he doesnt even see #1 PP minutes. Ryan Frigging Shannon a player whose played less then 60 games in the league is seeing first unit minutes with the Sedins over Naslund. Shannon looks to have a nice touch around the net, but theres no way Naslund a guy with a big contract, the captain of your team and the best pure sniper you have should be on the 2nd line and not even be on your first powerplay unit.
Is there some sort of rift between Vinauglt and Naslund? do the Sedins not like playing with him?

Mark Recchi plays on the top PP unit as the player in front of the net for the Pens. Jordan Staal doesn't play a minute of PP time. How do some coaches have jobs???

Differece is Naslund is the best pure goal scorer on his team and Stall isnt. How can a guy who makes the most money on your team and is the captain along with being your best sniper not see #1 PP minutes?

I know there is a difference but the coaches have reasons for it. Maybe he wants Shannon to get some quility experience on the top PP unit. Shannon was a former #1 pick so he has some skills. If Naslund is as good as he is, he should be fine on a #2 PP unit.

You don't take time away from your teams best offensive player so another player can recieve "experience" on the PP unit.
Naslund has lost a step right now, and I don't think he's motivated enough to play like he did when Bertuzzi was in town. Someone needs to give the guy a jump start, because he does have a ton of talent.

Dude Shannon was undrafted and was just sent down to the AHL yesterday. Its a total waste of cap space and talent to have a sniper like Naslund on the 2nd PP unit when the team is strugglin to score goals.

Yes he has lost a step, but hes still the best goal scorer that team has and youd think that the coach would at least attempt at the start of the season to instill some confidence in his captain by playing him on the #1 PP unit, considering this team has had issues with scoring goals.

I thought Shannon was drafted in the first round. I must be thinking of someone else. In that case, Naslund should be on the top PP line.

Jim Playfair was the worst at it, why dont we give Amonte and Nilson PP minutes> I mean they cant score crap so they must be good.
Naslund while a pure goal scorer isnt impressing Vigneault I guess and Shannon's hard work must be paying off.
I know how you feel about dumb coaching....Playfair

Ya Shannon's hard work is impressing his coach so much that he was just sent down to the minors. I just found out the reason why Naslund doesnt play on the #1 powerplay and it has to do with the Sedins wanting and being more sucessfull playing with a right handed shot seeing they load the right side of the ice on the powerplay and then look to make the cross crease pass and having a right handed shot makes the play easier then a left handed.
Even Though that makes sense, I cant see your coach or GM justifying having Ryan Shannon or Ryan Kesler on your #1 powerplay unit over a guy making a huge contract and is your best pure goal scorer.
