Is he overrated?

He is playing on a good Colorado team and is a -14 so far this season. Not too good.

I know numbers don't tell the whole story, but a -14.

That Colorado team cant play defence to save there lives, but yes he was overrated when he was on San Jose. Cheecho, Marleau and Vlasic are all overrated and that San Jose team isnt that good.

Colorado has some good defensemen. I wouldn't say they can't play defense. Colorado has scored 52 ES goals and has given up 51. And Colorado is tied for 17th in the NHL in PK.

I think he is overrated and wasn't worth the 4.5 million a season he was given. I'm happen Shero didn't sign him.

Marleau has been horrible this season and hardly ever makes a impact on any of the games ive watched. Alexei Ponikarovski has as many points as Marleau in less games.

well they are ranked 23rd in the nhl in terms of goals against per game and have given up the 5th worst number of 5 on 5 goals.

Please stop it with the one year things to say somebody is overratted the player should have 2 suspect years at least. Marleau has avarged 30+ points in every single season he has played in. Sure those are not superstar or star numbers but he is a pretty damn good 2/3 line C who I would take.

he means marleau has RECORDED 30+ points every season, even his rookie season.

anyway, i definitely feel marleau isn't playing up to par this season, but i disagree about scott hannan being overrated. the guy is always being sent out against other team's big guns. when you're used like that, sometimes you just wind up with a bad +/-. put it this way, tom preissing was like +45 last year and he's nowhere near as good as hannan (and i saw plenty of them both in san jose).
