Must be true, if it's a rumor you read on Hoopshype.

-No.
-Henrik Lundqvist (Rangers) is sure making a run at Roberto Luongo (Canucks).
-Sidney Crosby (Penguins), Vinny Lecavalier (Lightning), Henrik Zetterberg (Red Wings) , and I love watching Ilya Kovalchuk (Thrashers) .
-Detroit, Ottawa are the only ones that have asserted themselves.
-Points are goals or assists. If a player registers a goal and an assist in a game, he gets 2 points for that game. Also, in terms of teams, 2 points are awarded to the winning team, none to the loser. If the game goes into an overtime or shootout, both teams receive a point, the eventual winner snags the extra point. THESE points are how the playoffs and standings are situated.
-Yes, except Crosby makes his teammates better.
-Any Northwest Division matchup considered how closely bunched they are.

* No, Canadians are not contenders, sorry

*Luongo is the best

* Crosby, Ovechkin, Lecavalier, Lidstrom are all unbelievable. As Willeatfire said above, i also love watching Kovalchuk play, as well as Rick Nash

* Red Wings are far and away the best right now. They are a well-oiled machine

* Points explained above

* Crosby is similar in the sense that they both entered the league very young and are superstars, prolly the best in the game. Crosby is a playmaker though, while Lebron is more of a scorer, more like an
Ovechkin i would say (even in the sense that both their teams suck)

* Detroit vs. Anyone good.

Are my Canadiens contenders in the east?
As much as I want them to be... they aren't contenders right now. If they could win at home, and Ryder would actually produce it would be a different story.
Who is the best goalkeeper in the NHL?
Roberto Luongo.
Who is the best PLAYERS in the NHL?
Sidney Crosby, Alexander Ovechkin, Iginla, Lecavalier, Kovalchuk, Zetterberg.
The contenders?
Ottawa (East), Detroit (West)
I understand goals but what is points?
Points = Goals + Assists (passes which lead to goals)
Is crosby similar to lebron?
I suppose you could say that. but as mentioned Lebron could be more related to Ovechkin. Crosby is more a Steve Nash.
Good match ups in the future?
Any game is a good game in the NHL. But as for head to head player matchups? Crosby vs. Ovechkin is always fun.

Well right now the Canadians are not contenders in the East. Huet has been injured and Carey Price the 20 year old(I think?) has been playing in net where he has been solid. Mind you in the Playoffs anything can happen, Calgary and Edmonton were low seeds but got to game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals. Technically Calgary won but don't get me started. So watch the Habs play more and more.

The best goaltender right now is Lundqvist although its apples and oranges with Luongo. Watch out for Mikka Kiprusoff of the Flames, he is the best when he is on his game, he has been in a long slump but he is coming around. Also Brodour is great as well.

The best player as we speak is Jarome Iginla. Yes I am bias, but he lead our team to 6 straight road wins, changed the momentum of the game by fighting and has scored 2 or 3 game winning goals on the trip. Ovechkin and Kovalchuk are the best pure goal scorers and Crosby will someday soon be the best in the league. He is being hailed as the next Gretzky. Lecavlier is anotherr guy to watch for he is the leader in points and is a complete player. Rumour has it he might sign with the habs in the offseason. Zetterberg is good to.

ahh contenders well I would say Detroit but they find ways to lose deep in the playoffs. Ottawa is another contender depending on goaltending. Right now you can not tell, teh playoffs is a whole new ball game.

A player gets a point by getting a goal or an assist. Each are worth one point.

Ehh, Crosby is similar to Lebron in the sense that they are the next great players in there leagues, you can make a case that both are the best players in there leagues. Lebron can do it all on the court like Crosby can although Lebron is more of a scorer and Crosby a passer.

Well, since your a habs fan there is always the habs vs leafs which are usually good games. When Canadian teams play each other they are always good. Battle of Alberta(Calgary vs Edmonton) are fun. But Canadian teams playing each other are the main ones.

here are my two cents, with a few personal biases toward players i like:

best goaltender: martin brodeur

best players: crosby, ovechkin, joe thornton, lecavalier, scott niedermayer, lidstrom (honorable mention to jason spezza, who probably doesn't quite belong in the list but i really like)
