Hossa sprains his MCL

Post#1 » by Celtics_Champs » Fri Feb 29, 2008 3:31 am

Will be out for about a week.

Talk about a bad debut. The penguins got thrashed by the bruins 5-1.

At least it is only a week though, could have been worse.

I wouldn't say the Bruins crushed the Pens. The Pens had the same amount of scoring chances. Thomas just made some good saves and the Bruins got the deflections, 3 that is.

I'm not surprised Hossa got hurt. The Pens have had injuries all year long. He'll come back with Sid. It's nice to say that though.

Well your right, they didn't crush/thrash them. But, this was a big game for the bruins. Big game. Bruins announcer Jack Edwards was going nuts when timmy thomas made that last save on stall, "The bandwagon is leaving north station bruins fans, and you better get on!!!"

Only a grade 1 MCL sprain but scary to see all the same. Atleast "the other" new guy chipped in with a goal last night for you guys.

Wow I seems everytime a Leaf player leaves his team he gets better. Look at Yanic for example on Pheonix he was a faceoff master then in Toronto he sucked.

**** news for the Pens serves 'em right for rigging the Trade Deadline those bastards.

Ahh, the conspiracy theories start. Just kidding.

If you think this is bad, it gets worse.

Whitney pulled his groin and is out day to day.

This season has been unbelievable for the Pens. They have lost their top players for many games. I can't believe they are still playing this well, except for last night. When this team is healthy, the league needs to watch out.

that sucks for them , renting a player for good prospects, they should've known it would backfire

They only gave up a first rounder to get him. Not bad.

1)With how deep the draft is this year giving up a first round pick is not all that good.

2)The 3 players they gave up are solid second line players.Which the pens will be lacking.

Colby Armstrong is not a 2nd line player. He had the past 2 seasons on the first line with Crosby and didn't do much.

Erik Christensen is a natural center. He had the past 2 seasons as well to show something on the wing and did nothing. He won't even be a center for the top 3 lines in Pittsburgh.

The Pens won't be lacking any second line players for the next few season. Malkin-Malone and Sykora will be the 2nd line for at least 2 more seasons. Sid-Hossa will be the top line for the same amount. If not Hossa, it will be someone else in free agency.
