"After missing the last nine games with a fractured jaw, Buffalo Sabres winger Thomas Vanek said he is ready to return to the lineup."
The Sabres have struggled in Vanek's absence, winning only 3 of their last 10 games, and they sit on the outside looking in as the 9th seed in the Eastern Conference. With surging teams like The Penguins and Rangers, the injection of Vanek into the Sabres line up couldn't have come at a more crutial time.
"It’s a big plus," Head Coach Lindy Ruff said. "But I think the question is how ready is he going to be? Can he answer the physical, can he answer the conditioning? We hope he can."
Vanek will skate on the top line with center Derek Roy and RW Drew Stafford.
Do you think Vanek will be enough to boost the Sabres into the playoffs?
