As per RDS, Bob Gainey replacing him for the rest of the season.
Sigh. At least Kovalev will pick it up now.

Gainey is in a lose lose situation now.
If they do better, and improve thier seeding. . .they should have been like that all year, why wasnt the move made sooner.
If they lose ground. . . . well, lets not think about that right now.
Who does Gainey go with in net??

Carey, no doubt. He's played well the last two games so you have to stick with him and hope the confidence keeps growing.
The brightest spots I can see from this is 1) The Habs have played awesome when Bob has filled in behind the bench
2) Kovalev is going to respond big time.

Hmmm, interesting, I didn't know he was on the hot seat.
I am going to miss him and Julien shouting at each other.

Looks like the Pat Quinn and Hartnell rumors are already beginning. I'd love Quinn, personally. Awesome coach.

I don't get the love fest for Pat Quinn. Sure, he's a good coach but he's never won a cup behind the bench.

No, but he coached team Canada when they won the gold medal at the 2002 Olympics, coached team Canada to the 2004 World Cup with a perfect record, and his junior team won the whole thing at the 2008 IIHF World U18 Championships. He took an overrated, overachieving Leafs team and took them to the Conference Finals twice.
I'd be more than happy with Pat Quinn in Montreal.

I like Quinn a lot, and think he deserves another shot at an NHL team. . . .but for some reason, and i really couldnt tell you what, i just dont think Montreal is the fit for him. I thought Pitt for sure would look at him. Maybe Edmonton if Mac T is shown the door
