Heatley wants out!

Where do you think is his most likely destination?

A team that is ready to compete but needs more offense, and has the peices required to get him.

How about Columbus? Filatov + Voracek + 1st rounder for Heatley?

How about Boston? Wheeler + Kobasew + Bergeron for Heatley?

San Jose? Thornton for Heatley?

I hope Burke goes after him although I'm not sure they have what it takes to land a player of Heatley's caliber.

Where does he go, and how does this change the outlook of the league.

I would hope boston doesn't make that move above. But maybe Chia kicks the tires, like he always does when an Ottawa player becomes available.

Kess is being difficult to deal with, and Chia doesn't seem ready to budge, so how about Kess, Sturm, 1st for Heatley?? I don't know, It's said he wants out west though so, as long as he is out west and away from this conference I am cool with that.

He said he wants to go out west. . . if he could ever come home to Calgary . . . .

He's probably going to Calgary - but it's also been stated he won't go to Edmonton. Ottawa's such a mess. Constant Spezza rumors, and now Heatley wants out. They should just blow the team up and trade their big three for big time prospects and picks.

Rumor in Montreal is Gainey's trying to package a few players with the rights to sign Komisarek for Heatley.

I wouldn't mind seeing him on the Pens. Realistically though, he'd kill the cap. I'll just have to wait until Caputi, Tangradi, Vellieux and Zabouti develop.

No way I want to see someone like Heatley on the Penguins. I think the Pens are best off resigning immediate needs like Scuderi, Fedotenko (if they aren't too expensive), and then signing experienced mid-level players who have experience. Possibly older guys who are willing to take pay cuts like Guerin or St Louis.

Throwing another 7 million at a guy like Heatley (Hossa II) is a horrible idea.

The interesting question will be where Gonchar's cap hit goes in another year (if they reisign him or not, at what cost, etc.)

I hope we get the puck moving defense man that we crave so badly. I wonder if Florida would be interested in Heater? Bouwmeester sure would be nice.

I also wish we hadn't traded Vermette away - although if Leclaire pays off that will make that loss a lot easier.

Getting Leclaire was a steal for you guys. He's going to be huge for Ottawa.

If he can stay on the ice.

For some reason, I thought Heatley had a cap hit of $5 million. Just checked and saw it was $7.5 million. Never mind on that idea. Gonchar will re-sign here. He's said he wants to end his career here in Pittsburgh. And knowing the type of teammate he is, I'd be willing to bet it will be for less then what he is making now.

Maybe Detroit can trade for him while resigning Hossa ;)

Their top 6 forwards would consists of:

Pavel Datsyuk
Henrik Zetterberg
Dany Heatley
Marion Hossa
Johan Franzen
Jiri Hudler / Daniel Cleary

Okay, all jokes aside, I hope Heatley goes somewhere that allows him an opportunity to win a cup.

I could see L.A making a play for Heatley, with a deal surrounding Jack Johnson going the other way.

I could only hope for the Kings to offer Jack Johnson and their prospects for Heatley. That takes them out of the running for Vinny.

But with his ability to veto trades. . .why would he leave a team close to the playoffs for a team that is clearly in a rebuild? That team traded Cammy for picks. . .with cap space! Cant see him going there.

I am betting on a 3 way trade and he ends up in Van

I think Vancouver is going to go hard for Gaborik and Hossa, if they become available.

It was announced this morning that Heater has a $4 mil bonus coming to him July 1st - meaning that anyone who trades for him prior to July 1st will be on the hook for that.

Trading him has just become a wholeeeeeeeeee lot harder!

They'll be breaking out of that 'rebuilding' title shortly. Trust me..

The Kings have an abundance of young hot shot players/prospects, they can acquire any available star players should they choose to.
