Both of these players came into their league as the next 'one' so who has performed up to it the most? Both have won a gold medal, mvp and scoring championship. Crosby has the stanley cup and Lebron has the general league domination.

Crosby's not even the best in the NHL. Ovechkin vs LeBron is much better.

I'm no hockey expert but can't Hart voters tell the difference? Bobby Orr didn't have the gaudiest stats, they still gave him multiple Harts. Jaromir Jagr led the league in points 5 times but only won 1 Hart and I've been told it's because he didn't have the overall impact of other players. Yet now in an era where there are 2 clear superstars, they've chosen the wrong one both of the last two years? How did they get so dumb all of sudden?

I dont want to get into a hockey argument here, but ovie and crosby should not be mentioned in the same breath as Bobby Orr, at least not yet.

Ovechkin is Lebron. He`s going to win his 3rd straight MVP this year. He also fits the physical profile a lot more

For Crosby to beat Ovechkin all time he will need to have a Russell career to his Wilt where he kills him in titles and goes down as as like the best leader ever... because Crosby will never match his stats production.

There is. Ovechkin has 1.57 points per game to Crosby`s 1.28. Extrapolated over 82 thats 128 to 105 which is a giant difference. Ovechkin also has a +41 in 61 games which is pretty crazy. Washington is also destroying its conference record wise.

Ovechkin still has to win in the playoffs, but it`s like saying Lebron has to win the title to match Kobe. Sure... but most of us consider Lebron better without it... and in hockey titles arent used as much as in basketball to rank players, because 1 guy cant carry a team. Crosby is also fortunate to play with the guy who finished 2nd in MVP voting the last two years and is the reigning scoring champion + playoffs MVP. Ovechkins supporting cast is also excellent, albeit I would rather have Dwyane Wade than a Gasol + Odom combo

No doubt Ovechkin is more dominating this year and is the most exciting player in the game, but he also has a better team now. Washington has a better offense and defence. Goaltending is the only area where Pittsburgh is better. He doesnt have any excuses anymore. Washington is a lot better offensively and has 9 guys that can score 20 goals this year. That +- stat is skewed by the number of goals his line mates and him score.

Washington has Knuble, Semin, Backstrom and Green. They are better than Malkin, Guerin, Staal and Poni.

Here is how I see it.

Ovie = Lebron

Crosby = Kobe

Therefore, Crosby > Lebron.

Lebron = 0 ring, Swept in Finals
