Post#1 » by Nolan » Tue Sep 27, 2011 10:12 pm

Now that Mike Modano has retires its time to have this debate. So who do you think the best American-born player of all time?

The canidates:

Mike Modano - Won a cup in Dallas in 99', 1,374 career points which puts him #23 on the all time list.

Brian Leetch - One of the best defenseman in the history of the game and the face of the New York Rangers franchise.

Jeremy Roenick - In his time he was one of the most entertaining players on and off the ice.

Phil Housley - Smooth skating offensive defenseman who has 1,232 points in 1,495 career games.

Or is their someone else you think deserves the title?

So who is it?

I went with Leetch, though him and Modano are a complete tossup.

Pat LaFontaine is 17th all-time in points-per-game with 1.17

Modano (.917 PPG) is 97th all-time and Roenick (.892 PPG) is 113th
