First time fantasy player need help

Post#1 » by F1uxCapacit0r » Wed Sep 22, 2010 3:42 am

I drafted my team not knowing a lick about hockey. I always tear up basketball so thought i needed a change. Any help would be appreciated and def needed.

Ok its a 16 team league, head to head, with an 8 man roster. the scoring is G, A +/- PIM PPP GWG

C - zetterberg
LW - kovalchuck
RW - kane
D - T. Kaberle
D - Timonen
Bench - Taylor hall

G - C. ward
G - A. Niemi

I have no idea what catogories im good or bad in. my team seems to be in a bit of a mess. should have done some research. What am i good in / what do i suck in / what players should i target / what players should i get rid of

Good in - nothing...RW is acceptable
Suck in - everything else
target players - whoever other Managers picked ahead of you
get rid of - goalies, D

Haha, that is a decent team for a 16 team league.

You should no doubt rack up the points... I like all 3 of your main forwards.

I don't know too much about Timonnen, but Kaberle is good as long as he keeps his +/- near or above 0.

I love Taylor Hall, but he could end up hurting you with the +/- just because the Oilers aren't expected to do so hot this year, but you never know... he could net 30+ goals.

Goalies aren't the best, but Ward should give you a good SV%, and Niemi will do good if the Sharks play him a lot. I doubt there's better goalies in free agency.

Pretty good team though, but you'll never win in PIM, unless Kovy drops the gloves again haha.
