Gonchar is out 4-6 months

Unfortunately, I just seen that. Well, Goligoski will be a better pick up now. Will get #1 or #2 PP time. Ray Shero, best GM in the NHL.

Thanks for the tip. Do you think Letang will have a good season?

I think he is going to have a breakout year. With Gonchar out for most of the season and Whitney out till Christmas, Letang will be on the top pairing with Orpik, which means he will be out there with Sid on the ice. He has a tremendous amount of offensive ability and will help big time with the breakout pass. Should get a lot of points that way. Plus, he will get top PP time as well, more points there. I'm going to say 50 points this season for him.

That's a good draft. You might get some big steals on those last 2 picks. You should put Ryan Whitney on the IR. Try to pick up Kris Letang as well. See my reasoning above. Also, if Miroslav Satan is available, I would pick him and waive Jason Blake. I just think Satan will have a better year. Good depth at goalie is also a plus. Good draft on those.

Letang got drafted (so did Satan) in the last round since your a pens fans (i was a huge fan in the lemieux era) whats your thoughts on Goligoski worth a pick-up? I dropped Blake for Shea Weber D, as i need defense.

Any good defensemen sleepers anyone can suggest on the wavier?

2 defenseman who might be worth looking at. Goligoski might be a good pick up. Like Letang, he has great upside on the offensive side. He will be seeing top PP time. I actually think he might be on the #1 PP unit and Letang will be manning the 2nd. Another d-man you might want to look at is Drew Doughty. He is on the Kings and is a rookie. The only problem with him is, he is on the Kings. I'd go with the safer bet in Goligoski though. He will be team with Eaton as well, who is a reliable defensive d-man, so his +/- won't be bad. Jack Johnson and Robidas are also pretty good defenseman who might be worth looking it. Out of all 4, I'd say Robidas would be the safe bet because he has had NHL experience and you know what you are getting. Goligoski could have a good season, or could flop. He has the potential, and has played well in the pre-season, but that's just pre-season.

Adding mine: :)

8 person league - I had the 7th pick

simple rules - 1 pt for goal or assist, 1 extra for shorthanded, 2 points for a win, 1 extra for shutout

9 forwards, 6 defensemen, 2 goalies

Took a risk with Hutchinson with my last pick...but we can make trades later on if someone breaks out.

1. Pavel Datsyuk - F
2. Jason Spezza - F
3. Ryan Getzlaf - F
4. Miikka Kiprusoff - G
5. Henrik Lundqvist - G
6. Dan Boyle - D
7. Scott Niedermayer - D
8. Derek Roy - F
9. Paul Stastny - F
10. Brent Burns - D
11. Tomas Kaberle - D
12. Michael Nylander - F
13. Nathan Horton - F
14. Tomas Plekanec - F
15. Teemu Selanne - F
16. Marek Zidlicky - D
17. Andrew Hutchinson - D

Let me know what you think!

Schneider was just traded to Atlanta

Ryan was just sent to the minors :P

Also wondering if I should drop anyone for any of chris drury, tomas holmstrom, robert lang, wojtek wolski, mikko koivu, or steve bernier as they are all still available.

Alex Goligoski is an option. He is on the Pens top PP. Has 2 PP goals already. If Letand becomes available, don't bother picking him up. He looks like crap so far. I'd list some defensemen that are available though. Give us a better idea of who is free.

Other than that, yahoo did a pretty good job of picking your team. Personally, I'd drop Kessel. I don't think he is that good. A bruins fan would have a better idea of how he is doing and what they think of him. Koivu would have been the perfect pick up, but he is a center. If you plan on dropping Kessel, I'd go with Wolski.

enstrom, kuba, robidas, hamrlik, salo, ohlund, ehrhoff, and girardi are all available for defensemen. girardi looks like he could have a good year.
