I wouldn't mind the Knicks going after Lowry if they strike out on their trade targets.
Why rely on nuance, facts and logic when you can bludgeon the other side with mindless repetition of "Duuur McDaniel's has potential :tooth and still be treated as if you were reasonable.

As a Suns fan I’m interested in the possible buyout guys sub the MLE ($12.4M).

Alec Burks
Monte Morris
Delon Wright
Thad Young
Khem Birch
Patty Mills
Cedi Osman
Danilo Galo
Otto Porter

Anyone else on that list that I missed?

Wright or Burks would be really great fits.

Honestly, I think Suns ought to try and flip Nas for Wright before any buyouts

Wright is probably my favorite trade target for the suns. Although all the Suns deadline speculation is focused on Nas and Seconds for Miles Bridges which isn’t great.

So often, the intended outcomes of CBA attempts to increase parity and protect small market teams' ability to compete end up sinking them. I do like the idea that, come playoff time, teams that have spent wildly (not necessarily irresponsibly but maybe just kept their team together, like GSW) can't just casually add aging, but valuable stars for $2m because tanking teams donate them to the "bosses". It adds an element to fiscal planning for sure. If, for example, PHI adds Hayward for peanuts...that's a significant move.

The other elements, like forbidding apron teams to combine salaries to make trades is another interesting one that could shake out. I don't know the exact details, but basically making it a whole lot harder for big (over)spenders to bail themselves out of mistakes.

Agreed. This is also why I hope that we never see contract amnesty on the table again. It rewards irresponsibility by teams otherwise undeterred by the tax.

Absolutely. They just need to make a supermax only count for a normal max on the teams' cap sheet, but in full if they're traded.
The supermax is a flawed contract. While it does make it easier to keep your star players, it makes it more difficult to then put a team around them.

Highly unlikely Charlotte buys out both. If there is a buy out, it's going to be one and most likely Lowry.
