Simple Heat-76ers swap of backup bigs

Post#1 » by ThaFranchize84 » Sat Feb 3, 2024 4:37 pm

With the Embid injury wanted to see if this deal makes sense.

Heat get Mo Bamba

76ers get Thomas Bryant

Why?

Heat get a front court floor spacer that could be a better fit next to Bam than what they have currently on the roster. Bamba get a chance to earn a larger role.

76ers get Thomas Bryant whose style of game is closer to Embid than Bamba. Obviously he is no where close to Embid skill wise but could provide the 76ers another big man option while Embid misses some time.

Thoughts?

I think if Philly goes to get a stopgap center they would look for a real option, not another guy you don't actually want to play, right?

I don't see Philly wanting to make this swap. Mo Bamba already being in their system and the better defender makes this a no. Plus pushes Philly farther into the tax. I think if Philly is looking for center upgrade then they look a little higher here, they have plenty of disposable salary and assets to find that trade.
