Dallas trade: Holmes, 2025 TOR 2nd
Dallas receive: Tucker, 2026 LAC 2nd
LAC trade: Tucker, LAC 2026 2nd
LAC receive: Boucher
Toronto trade: Boucher
Toronto receive: Holmes, 2025 TOR 2nd
Why for Dallas and LAC: get a more playable forward for a cheap cost
Why doe Toronto: get a good 2nd for taking on the worst player
If dallas wants to keep that TOR 2nd then can send DAL 2026 2nd and reroute LAC 2nd to Toronto as well

I am not sure Tucker is more playable than Grant, Maxi, or DJJ. I really don’t think he is, but maybe that’s bias?
This is a really low cost, but I don’t think it’s worth it. Think Dallas is owed that amount of value back in the swap

Tucker will definitely be able to give you a solid 20MPG in the playoffs of defending guys like Kawhi/Lebron/SGA.
He hasn’t played much this year so his surface level numbers are abysmal, but he was never one to put up numbers. Ironically this rest should be a positive for his physical shape in May & June.
This makes sense for all teams IMO. It’s a low R/R trade all around, and directionally fills each teams needs.

You think Holmes is worth more than Tucker?

I think they’re both negatives. I think Tucker is just a locker room presence at this point. Some feel he’ll have an impact since he’s so rested, I think he’s so rested because there’s nothing left.
Wouldn’t expect Tucker to get minutes over Maxi, Williams, or DJJ.
While I think Holmes an equally negative player, he’s 8 years younger.. and you can pretend to think his touch will return as more time passes since there’s really no reason he just forgot to play basketball at 28 years old.. So yeah, I wouldn’t pay anything for the swap.

I think Tucker might play where Holmes won't unless Kidd just has no choice. But not giving up the TOR 2nd to make that swap. Because even if he plays he's likely not any better than the guys the Mavs have, just different.

Would you pay another 2nd then?

I probably would. But I don't think Dallas should. I think they shouldn't spend any assets at all on shuffling deck chairs like this. They just have none to spare. Now unlike jay, I do think Kidd would give him some run and see what he has, if anything. If he can POA defend at all, I think they live with him standing in a corner even if he can't make shots. But I don't think he really solves what ails them enough. But I'm antsy.
