LaMelo for Steph straight up who says no?

Post#1 » by JustBuzzin » Tue Feb 6, 2024 8:31 pm

Charlotte gets hometown hero Steph Curry. He changes the culture the moment he steps on the court. Charlotte becomes a contender the following year with a core of Curry/Miller/Bridges/Mark and a top 5 pick.

Warriors get a young talented star in LaMelo and they can rebuild their team around a exciting flashy point guard.

Hornets say no. What good is a 36 year old Steph on the Hornets? Lamelo is their future. The only scenario in which the Hornets want Steph is a win now for a title. Trading TR for a first put them further away, not closer.

P.S if GSW isn’t a contender with Steph, why are the Hornets next season?

Golden State. I’m still not sure how much LaMelo affects winning; Charlotte is on a 17-win pace with him playing this season and on a 16-win pace when he sits.

It’s hard to evaluate this as a business decision because there is so much emotion involved in the local value.

My guess is that both sides say no.

A) Warriors say no.

b) That Charlotte team is not contending.

Hard pass. LaMelo and Miller are on the same timeline. Curry can come play in his home town for free when he's old and done if he wants

These kinds of never ever happening hypotheticals will make great content starting Friday. Feel free to re-visit then during the long trade dead period.

Oh and GSW is never ever doing this obviously.
