If Killian is done here, why are they starting him tonight? :nonono:

We traded Morris to create a need for Hayes.. Monty is secretly the new GM. We’re doomed.

I really hope this is like a load management thing

We didn't just start making laughable moves. We have been doing awful moves for 4 years. Monty is a piece of **** but he has been here for a few months. This is 100% on Weaver, and Gores and Tellem.

That’s not a good sign. Fingers crossed that it is a bluff of some kind.

Cade’s out. That makes it more understandable.

We didn’t trade Morris to make room for Hayes. That’s totally insane.

This frees up a spot for Killian and I’m very sad about that.

I don't think it has to, just cut/trade him and play Ivey/Sasser.

YOU ARE WELCOME

I hope Monte Morris will come back this season as he gets healthier, but in his small sample since he’s gotten back, he is 2.0/1.3/4.0. All for the bargain price of (pro-rated) $9.8 mil. Some talking heads listed him as a possible buy out candidate. And how would DET have benefited if he did come back?

DET got four things:

- 2030 MIN 2nd
- A look at Troy Brown Jr ($4, $4 team option), who started games for LAL last year, and played fine in limited minutes for MIN
- $800,000 prorated
- Goodwill. Shows other potential free agents that DET will help vets with their careers, sending them to a contender.

I agree that this isn’t a lot, but I can’t think the market was much better than this for Monte.

It's easy to miss because he's been in the league for so long, but Troy Brown is still only 24 years old. Or to put it in Pistons terms, he's only 14 months older than rookie Marcus Sasser.

As for Minnesota, everyone on the Timberwolves subforum already knows my love for this trade. I think Morris is exactly what Minnesota needed at backup point guard, and honestly might be the closest prototype to Mike Conley of anyone else in the league. And Minnesota obtaining his Bird rights was sneaky key!

At the absolute worst, Minnesota traded two DNP-CDs for one DNP-CD and a second round pick seven drafts out when Edwards and McDaniels will be in their primes.

I do think Troy Brown got a rough shake. He earned minutes with his play in a few games. On the right team I think he's for sure a good bench piece. He gives effort on defense, the glass, provides energy and shooting. Can't ask for a whole lot else from a bench player. He's young enough to improve in other areas too.
