I really thought the Bulls would finally start cashing in some pieces. I shouldn’t have thought that, but I did.

I am most surprised that Portland decided to keep Brogdon. The Sharpe injury makes it less surprising, and I wonder if he weren't hurt if they would make the same decision. I don't hate it, but they could have gotten something worthwhile for him.

Oh, wait, Utah said at the beginning of the season the players off-limits in trades were Lauri, Kessler, Ochai, Hendricks, and George. I really thought we viewed Ochai as a long-term piece. He is a nice, though unspectacular 3&D guard.

I’m not on record saying this but I thought the Warriors would do something, either in the direction of pretending to still contend or dumping salary, since—even though guys like CP3 and Klay are expiring—GSW would’ve saved a ton of money this year too if they had dumped one of them (i.e., CP3). I didn’t expect the path of “we know we’re not competitive so there’s no use in attempting to upgrade, but let’s still have a super-contender payroll this season.”

But honestly it was the best course of action. This team isn’t doing anything this season, so no use burning assets or operating from a standpoint of lesser financial flexibility (compared to what they’ll have in the summer); yet the fact that they’re not throwing everyone overboard shows that Lacob is still invested in contending with Curry, which is encouraging for the offseason.

Best to eat crow while it’s still warm.

Pretty hard to see that Portland didn't move anyone of Ayton, Grant, or Brogdon.

Not surprised Grant and Ayton were not moved. A bit surprised Brogdon is still a Blazer.

The only crow I have to eat is that I didn't believe the Heat would trade their get out of tax jail card (Kyle Lowry), and I think the Heat overpaid for Rozier, so the situation must have been pretty bad. I am surprised that the Knicks traded Grimes, but I'm not about to question their team building. They've clearly been making some great moves. I'm a vegetarian, so this crow is going to be the vegan kind.

My good crow is thinking RJ is the cost of doing business but he's been a pleasant surprise.

My bad crow is Masai is once again, after the lowry and fvv fiasco, patient beyond my belief. Fooled me 3x now and counting

I'll take a good size of crow with a side order of fries.

I didn't expect Phoenix to be active at the deadline. Acquiring Royce O'Neale was a good move. Adding David Roddy was interesting as well.

Kelly Olynyk and Ochai Agbaji to T-Dot was a strange move that came out of nowhere. I'm surprised that T-Dot didn't flip Olynyk somewhere else. I guess with him being from Canada may have played a role in keeping him around for the remainder of the season. As for Agbaji, my guess is to check into his potential to becoming a reliable player for the future.

Malcolm Brogdan wasn't traded from the Blazers maybe a miss for value by the Blazers. Maybe in the offseason.

I didn't think the Charlotte Hornets would have the guts to become active at today's deadline. I'm actually proud of them for finally doing something for a change.

I thought that DMDR would get moved at the deadline today. I had the Clippers or Warriors in mind. Once again, the Bulls sat on their hands.

DJM got his stay of execution to remain a Hawk. Not too sure what will come behind that. I can't help but to wonder if any tension will develop in the locker room behind this. Either way, I think the Hawks will have some serious decisions to make. Perhaps could involve rebuilding and picks.

I cannot believe that Minnesota didn't make a minor salary move to avoid the Luxury-Tax from Mike Conley's unlikely incentives.

I was 100% sure that was going to happen.

Teams - improvement
Though OKC would improve with a big and Orlando would improve with a PG. Both did nothing

Teams - sellout.
Okok those that with first value won’t get moved but surely some of those minutes eater worth 1-2 seconds . Expected a glorious flurry of trades for non needle movers. Didn’t even get a trickle.

I thought we'd see some moves of players that could make a difference to playoff teams, but with Atlanta, Chicago and Portland holding off major moves, it was role players all round.

And yet despite the seeming shortage of good players made available, it seemed like mostly a buyers market?!?

I'll have more, but I did not have PJ Washington returning a pick of that upside nor did I have Dallas being the team to pay it. Quite wrong on both accounts. That's the main one I need to wear for now.
