Suns and Pistons

Suns Trade Booker

Pistons Trade Ivey or Cade and unprotected 2024 1st.

Suns get back Cade/Ivey and a shot at a top5 pick.

Pistons bring home the hometown shooter.

Reasonable in value. I know this will sound extremely optimistic, but the Pistons need Ivey to step up and become Booker-lite. His rookie contract has a lot of value, so if he can be 80% of Booker, that is better for Detroit. Also, same applies to the draft pick. How good will Cody Williams or Zaccharie Risacher be? They could easily be as good as Ivey. I'd pass.

The Suns may trade Booker, but if they do, it will be for old vets who fit better with Durant.

I can't see the Suns trading the face of the franchise for an under-performing young player and a pick when they are going YOLO.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

This would be a really fun hypothetical, especially if Phoenix could land a big like Sarr with that draft pick and he’s ready day 1. I can’t imagine either team actually going for this though.
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

The Suns have mortgaged their future- I doubt they’re willing to trade one of their All-NBA guys to reset when they don’t control their own draft capital.

For us? Seems like too much to give up for any one guy.

Booker one of least likely players to be traded in NBA

You might get Beal (if he forfeits his no-trade clause), not Booker for this package.

That's a horrible return for Detriot.

No idea why anyone would think he has more value now than he did in the summer.

I wouldn’t trade Ivey, Cade, OR that pick for Beal. Let alone all three…

If KD and Booker hated each other… you could think about doing this and trying to fit in a really good player if the 30-35 million dollar TPE that’s created?

Cade and the 24 1st isn’t enough, and doesn’t really make sense for Detroit anyway. Even with Booker, we aren’t good enough to make any noise.

OP was the pick and either Cade or Ivey, not both. If I misunderstood you, I apologize for being thick.

I did misread the original post. Fair to note that I STILL didn't think the Suns would do it- I don't think they'd give up Booker for all of those guys. When you're a team that's mortaged that much of your own draft capital trades that make you worse in the short term are a really tough sell- no team wants to risk being in the situation the Nets were in a few years back- having a bad team and still owing first round picks into the future.

I still think suggesting that Beal is worth Ivey OR Cade with the pick is absurd to the point where it might have been trolling though.

I think that this thread was destined to burn out quickly. The Beal counter offer was the response that the OP deserved, Brad and Devin are about evenly as far (on opposite ends) from the right valuation of Ivey+24DET1st.
