I didn't really get past this. Why would the Warriors and Wiggins not be on the same page? Of course they are.

From what I’ve seen, there’s been discomfort in Warriors world around Wiggins not performing well.

AFAICT, the Warriors would have already traded him if his value wasn’t perceived to be negative.

Do you really think they want to pay him another ~$80M (+tax multiplier) if he performs like the last 2 years? We are going to see teams make moves this offseason for salary reasons, and a GSW/Wiggins divorce seems easily plausible.

Why would you want to trade for him then, if he’s been that bad?

He’s had some personal off court issues over the last year, and it took him a while to get going this season but he was getting really good again before the latest personal time he needed off. He’s a proven playoff performer and the Warriors aren’t unhappy with him. If you have a decent report stating otherwise, I’d love to see it.

As far as the trades go, neither are of interest. They don’t make us better, so there’s no point.

The premise I guess is that he is less of a negative when not paying the tax and may thrive in a hometown enviroment. I think Brown for wiggins and two 2nds is a good deal for the Warriors. I heard that Wiggins and the team are certainly not in the same place as they were two years ago.

RJ's been great on the Raptors so far. 61% TS and career high in ast%. Makes no sense to do a swap of the 2 for us. Do agree its silly to have both

He's had so many hot 10-20 games stretches with an absolute crash to the mean to follow. I'd love him to have meaningfully improved and we may see it next season.

That is a god awful deal and makes zero sense for the Warriors.

I also heard that Scottie Barnes hates it in Toronto, so I think a Barnes and two 2nds for Moody would be a good deal for them. /greenfont\

The deal makes no sense for Toronto either. On the financial side, they have to pay Quickley next year and Barnes the year after. Adding Wiggins long term $ into that takes away the financial flexibility they need moving forward. On the basketball side, next year will be about development and acquiring assets. It would be a waste of a roster spot, really, to have Wiggins in a Bruce Brown or Chris Boucher role next year. Toronto is never even considering this deal.

Yep, the entire premise is terrible.

Toronto isn't in the position and needs Wiggins. The team is fine with RJ as that wing scorer. Having two of them making the money they are and being slightly average to above average free throw shooters is bad.
