Which player(s) could be available for Nance ($10mil. exp.) and pick(s) and maybe Daniels and/or Hawkins?
Daniels has shown elite perimeter defense and high-IQ passing, just turned 21 y/o, but his offense has a ways to develop.
The picks can be added and protected as needed.

Some ideas:

Okongwu. Hawks get an elite perimeter defender to help Trae or Murray, going more small ball lineups with Johnson at the 5 in spurts.

Kessler + Clarkson. Jazz could look to buy low on a recent lotto pick who would fit nicely with George and co.

Your ideas?

I like the Utah idea. Kessler is fun - great personality, good player - but I think Daniels is an ideal fit on our roster.

Hmm that is intriguing. Definitely fits from a need perspective for both teams. But Naz may be needed if/when they trade Towns, right? And I think Griffin would be scared to give Dyson to a division rival, then he breaks out and makes them even more of a powerhouse.

Reid is awfull defender, that would not work for the Pels. Yes 3pt shooting is nice, but that is not only part of the game.
Also having a frontcour with 6-6(at best) and 6-9(at best) dudes is not a great situation to be in, especially considering that they are both not great rebounders.

I think he's realyl improved his defense this year. Even when paired with KAT vs Towns he has played muhc better on that end of the court.

I agree - even without Kessler I think Daniels is the type of player we'd be willing to part with some of our picks for if it helped facilitate another deal. I think the Jazz would be interested in any of NOP's wings especially - Daniels, Hawkins or Murphy.

I've liked Hawk alot and I honestly believe that Daniels may be a better on ball defender than Herb (several Pels fans think this), but going back to what has been discussed before..

If you main go-to/clutch/ playoff lineup is Z, BI, Trey and Herb then everybody else is expendable and that would include Dyson and Hawkins.

Starting with those 4, you then surround them with whatever other pieces you need to maintain flexibility.

I don't think the front office will trade CJ, and Alvarado is still on a low contract. I'd advocate bringing back Naji. You need a small ball center and a rim protecting center. That's a 9 man rotation right there. It doesn't really leave consistent minutes for other guys unless someone goes down injured. You can make a case for Dyson being in that rotation instead of Jose but frankly Jose has been consistently better and provides everything you need in a backup guard.

That leaves Daniels, Nance, Hawk and all of the picks to use to fill out those center spots. Id definitely be interested in making a trade for Kessler, and then maybe trying to get Jalen Smith in free agency.

I'm also wondering what it would cost to get Nick Richards.

I'm not sure i'd be trading Daniels yet, unless it's in a package for an All Star level player.

He's absolutely ELITE defensively, good IQ and good passer. His offense will improve, but needs more consistent reps on ball.

I really think next season, with a good offseason and possible Olympics with Australia, he can take a big step forward.

So…I think you’re right but I’m still not sure where the minutes come. Like let’s say he bumps his 3 percentage up to 37 percent and gets his rate up to 5 3s a game and 15 points per 40. That would be amazing growth and I still don’t see how it would get him any more than stealing Jose and naji’s minute.

I think the sacrificing the risk of that he significantly improves versus leveraging his potential for a key building block that you get to bring in before training camp… it’s tough. Like if he can bring in a starting caliber center I’d do it.
