Mavs/Hawks/Blazers

Post#1 » by Mike lorenzo » Sun Apr 7, 2024 12:10 pm

MAVS
In:Hunter/Bogdanovic Out:THJ/Green/Hardy/Powell/Mavs 25

Mavs get good-sized starting wing, upgrade 6-man position

Gafford/Lively
PJ/Maxi/O-Max
Hunter/DJJ
KI/Bogdanovic
Luka/Exum

HAWKS
In:J.Grant/Thybulle/Hardy/Powell
Out:Hunter/Bogdanovic/Griffin /3 SRP

The Hawks improve at the wing position with an above-average starter and an elite defender.

Capela/OO/Powell
JJ/Draft/Bey?
Grant /Thybulle
Murray /Hardy
Trae/Bufkin

BLAZERS
In:THJ/Green/Griffin/3 SRP/Mavs 25 Out:Grant/Thybulle

The BLAZERS sell a couple of veterans who wouldn't be in the long-term plans, expiring much of Grant's money on a veteran like THJ who they could sell later, gaining a couple of prospects and some future assets

Ayton/Williams/Reath
Draft/Murray/Walker
Green/Griffin /Camara
Sharpe/Simons/THJ
Scoot/Brogdon/Draft
1+1=11

I could accept this for Portland. I’d start shopping THJ immediately.

How much value is this assigning to Griffin?

I like the pieces. Just think Atlanta owes more than just Griffin+2nds, or they would get cut out.

Yeah, no need to keep him.

Hunter feels like a weird fit in the starting lineup. Who defends opposing guards? If Kyrie has to chase them around it's not going to go well.

Can't say I'm that interested in Bogdanovic either. He's better than THJ, but Luka/Kyrie/Bogi on the court together (you know Kidd will go there) is still a nightmare defensively. The Mavs need to be weeding out poor defenders, not commiting long term money to them.

What if you took out Bogdan and gave Dallas Thybulle? Not sure how to feel about it, but it trims some 6 million which matters for finishing the bench around tax penalties.. Do Hunter/Hardy/Exum provide enough playmaking behind the stars? Probably not.

Feels like a steep price to pay with Green and the 25 pick included. Thybulle would make some sense if they lost DJJ in free agency, but otherwise I'd rather keep Green's shooting.

PJ has been awesome but I don’t know if I want him to full time have to guard the Steph curry’s and Ja Morants of the world.
