If the Lakers select him at #55 they're not a serious franchise.
Ehh, I wouldn't go that far. The vast majority of 50+ picks never play meaningful NBA minutes anyway. If spending a late second on Bronny keeps the Lakers on Bron's good side, that's worth it even if Bronny never turns into an NBA player.
That's true they barely pan out. But I would argue 2 points.
He wouldn't even be close to the top 150 draft eligible kids in the world if his last name wasn't James. It wouldn't be close. It's not an argument to just do it because they most likely won't play anyway. That just supports my opinion they're not a serious franchise if they do it.
LeBron James is retiring with the Lakers. It doesn't matter if they think they need to be on his good side. Sure it helps with keeping on the good side of Klutch, but it's the Lakers, that doesn't matter as much as other franchises.
Are the Bucks not a serious franchise then for giving Thanasis a roster spot?
Keeping your superstars happy in this era of player empowerment and constant movement is a top priority. Spending a low value asset (late 2nd round pick, 15th roster spot) to keep them happy seems like something a serious franchise would do.
