PHX and Lakers shuffle

Post#1 » by tcheco » Fri May 10, 2024 5:19 pm

Lakers and PHX are not ready to make huge changes, and they try to find a better balance with the limited wiggle room they have

Lakers trade:
Gabe Vincent
Rui Hachimura
Vando

Suns trade:
Nurkic
Little
Grayson Allen

Lakers move to be bigger in their lineups, also add shooting with Allen

Suns opt on getting smaller with Vando as center and exchange Rui for Allen to get bigger in the PF position without losing spacing

Laker possible lineup:

D'lo/Dinwidie?
Reaves/Grayson/JHS
Lebron/Grayson
AD/Prince/Little/Lebron?
Nurkic/Hayes

Suns possible lineup:
Booker/Vincent/Beal
Beal/Booker/Eric Gordon
KD/Royce/Okogie
Rui/Royce/Roddy
Vando/Ewbanks

Lots of ifs in this depth charts considering some players are FA, others have PO, but this is big change in the rotation for both teams trying to address a few of their issue.

Suns are adding more value in this trade, Allen and Nurkic both have more value than any of the 3 players the Lakers are sending, but little is barely playable, Gabe as bad as he was part of this year, could still be a decent bet for the Suns.

Would the Lakers add more value(if so, how?) to make this happen? Or is this suggestion totally off?

You mean can't combine multiple players in a trade?

Not really adding to spacing if Nurkic has to share the court with LeBron and AD

Main thing is since the Suns cant combine salaries so this as written is dead to start.

I do think Suns & Lakers seem like a reasonable pair for a trade, but really dislike this deal from a Suns standpoint. I think the Suns trade away the best (allen) and maybe 2nd best player (nurkic) in this deal. I dont think Vanderbilt can hold up as a center at 215 and the Suns would no longer have a center on the roster (with Eubanks set to leave per Suns insiders).

The last thing is something which has nothing to do with the bones of the trade. Allen, Nurkic and Little are basically the only salaries they have that can be traded. Combining them all into one deal really limits other moves. This has been touched on before in other threads, but I think a deal that sends Beal +/- 1st to LA for 3 of D'Lo/Vando/Vincent/Rui has more legs.

Yes

In addition, Allen can't be traded until October/November due to the extension he agreed to.

I can’t see Vando surviving as a starting center. If he could, LAL wouldn’t be trading him for Nurk..

Downgrading Allen is a bad idea.. (ignoring it not being a legal deal)
