THJ to Charlotte, Richards anywhere.

I think I posted this one. But I like it more than I should.

Charlotte: Martin and Richards
Charlotte: THJ

Charlotte gets a vet to replace Terry for taking on an extra 3 million dollars. THJ thinks he is as good as Terry, but neither is actually good. THJ expires at the end of the year and Charlotte hopes one of their kids develops to take the minutes. But they give up absolutely nothing.

Dallas: THJ
Dallas: Martin

Martin will have 10 good games a year. And we will love him in those games. He’ll also be paid 8 million less than THJ and will allow Dallas to keep DJJ. So we will love him more.

Presti is 30+ million under the cap and needs a guy that can push people around. This is not Richards. But it’s a start.

Toronto: fake 2nd
Toronto: Richards

Whether Toronto acts as a cap space or keeps their TPE, this is legal. They could use a third string center, especially if they do end up moving on from Poeltl.

Memphis: Fake 2nd
Memphis; Richards

Memphis has TPE’s and a clear need for a true big body center. Richard’s is cheap enough to not impact their salary situation, but would help in limited minutes.

yeah jay is better at this than me. Only suggestion I have is Dallas sends cash to the 3rd team to pay Richards salary. Maybe makes it an easier sell for a team to take a flier?

I like those odds considering how terrible this draft is…

But I kind of think Dallas might still owe the Miami 2nd to whoever gets Richards? I was undecided really.

Opens up money to pay DJJ, keeps Hardy, Prosper, 2025 1st, and TOR 25 2nd. It’s great. Good job.

probably cash is enough? depends if the owners rather keep a 2nd or cash.

Yeah, Richards is weird. Most teams with tax space probably don’t mind having him as your third center… especially if your starter is a smaller guy and you want a bruiser type. Was thinking of Looney+2nd for Richards tied in somehow to add value. Looney’s 3 million guarantee might motivate GS to throw away a 2nd versus eating it.. understand it would be more than 3 million to the team getting Looney..

Going further down this unrealistic road..

Does Phoenix pay anything to turn Little into Richards? They only have 22nd to offer really… 22nd for the Toronto 2nd? Or maybe Dallas pays Charlotte to add 42nd to Phoenix?

Dallas would have to add an asset to dump Martin else where if they get that done, but now you’re shopping Martin+22nd+two future 2nds for a rookie contract player.. Little as your 5th wing in Dallas is not ideal, but yeah.. it still could open up DJJ money.
