I don’t hate it, but don’t love it either. I prefer Risacher though.

I'll be disappointed if Portland picks Clingan at 7, let alone uses assets to trade up for him.

Same. If my scouts were telling me Clingan is the gem of this draft then sure, but my own analysis has him as a Steven Adams type center. Which in a weak draft is a solid center but not someone you go out of your way to pick top 3. I also have doubts he would even actually be better than Ayton, although he would probably be a far better $$ per impact guy, I just dont see him ever commanding a contract around 20% of the cap, but will likely be around a 150% of the MLE type money tier his entire career.

Sarr or Richacher I would definitely look to make a move up for (but doubtful Houston does this if they are on the board), otherwise no one really piques my interest enough to make a significant move up the board for.

Hoping POR takes Edey instead.

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

Ya - hoping for a swing at a forward using 7 and simply drafting Edey at 14.

At 7 I find him very reasonable.

i think Clingan must have a great agent because the tsunami of BS floating around about him is amazing.

Clingan looks like strictly a drop-coverge C to me and those have nearly become anachronisms in the NBA. Walter Kessler was touted on being a steal and yet he has only averaged 23 minutes and started less than half of the games, for a lottery team.

Dallas just crushed Minny, a team with two classic drop-coverage C's making a combined 77M. And they did it with two mobile C's capable of switching on defense who make a combined 17M.

as a Blazer fan, if Portland uses either one of their lottery picks on one of these big lumbering C's I'll be real ticked-off. Unless of course it's the first of two acts with the 2nd being dumping the grossly overpaid Ayton

Xman wrote:Memphis should love to get Clingan, just like POR. So, what is the price - #3 for #8 and what - maybe MEM 2025 1st top 4 protected seems fair.

What can POR do to top it?
#3 for #14, 2029 MIL 1st (and/or 2029 BOS 1st).
- might be too much but I would do that in a minute. Risk is the pick in 2029 is bad, but potential is worth the risk.
Personally would rather just take Sheppard who I love but if the rockets are ok with missing out on him maybe. Id want to get Kennard as well in a trade down with Memphis

Think Kennard is a bit of an idea > actually kind of player but fills the shooting need
