It’s terrible because they can do better than the 20th pick for Naz Reid. The financial part is fine, but there are a number of teams that could offer some seconds to a 3rd team. What matters is the front end asset.

I also wonder how many teams would take 2 years of Niang for just a couple of second rounders.

The Wolves need the salary savings due to the ownership fight. That's the most important part. They wouldn't be moving Naz at all otherwise. So yes, they can get a better player, but that player needs to make $6M less than Naz, and that part isn't easy.

OKC trades 12 for Reid pretty readily imo. Ditto for Philly and 16

Then the Wolves should take those deals. They very well might get a better pick and space offer (although there's considerable overlap between J. Will and Naz), but Colbini's objection was they're win-now and they need a win-now piece back.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

Minnesota probably doesn't want to help OKC in the West, but I do agree Philly would jump on that.
