ATL-MIN-OKC

Post#1 » by rambo_ortega » Tue Jun 4, 2024 8:12 am

Hawks get:
Karl Anthony Towns

They get an All Star big that they can pair with Trae and compliment whoever they draft at #1

Trae/Bey/JJ/Okongwu/KAT

Wolves get:
Dejounte Murray
Lugentz Dort

They become even more defensive with this trade and very well rounded.

Murray/Ant/McDaniels/Reid/Gobert
Conley/Dort - off the bench

Thunder get:
Clint Capela

They get a legit Center who will do his job consistently on a nightly basis

Giddey/SGA/Williams/Holmgren/Capela

I am pretty strongly against any Karl-Anthony Towns for Dejounte Murray swap, barring Minnesota completely reloading their picks. Dejounte Murray is a high usage player (despite being relatively inefficient, particularly from race), and his defense is drastically overstated. He’s an adequate starting Point-Guard who is locked up on a very fair salary, but I don’t like the fit with the rest of the roster and the talent drop-off is tremendous.

So, if reading this right, OKC does Dort for Capela? Dort > Capela and not close really.

I also think Towns > Murray. Murray being on better contract keeps it closer, and if your team needs a PG vs a center, I am sure Murray > Kat…so value is not extreme different.

It's understandable that most people under appreciate Dort, but he's way more valuable than this.

Let me take this opportunity to stan for Lu as he became an almost ideal 3&D player this year and continues to get disrespect from awards voters. He's a top 3 POA defender. Better than Caruso, Holiday, Suggs, and White. This year his usage dropped to 15% while his 3 point rate went up to 60% AND he shot 40% from 3.

Anecdotally, he made Brandon Ingram look like my 7 year old in the first round. A keen observer would also note the coincidence of Luka's health suddenly improving between round 2 & 3. Dort is the man! Off my soapbox now...

this is so bad for OKC.

Dort >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Capela at this point Capela's career.

They don't. One trade being the exception doesn't make it the rule.

We all know how good Dort is. We get it.
