There's a thread on the Bulls' Board that OKC has real interesting in Williams. I like PWill but he's been a disappointment. He has talent and seems like a good kid, but he's passive and lacks explosion.
I see OKC's interest-can never have enough Williams'.
Would OKC do Dieng for PWill in a Sign and Trade? I highly doubt AKME let PWill walk, but Dieng is cheap for two more years and has promise.

Re: PWill for Dieng
No reason for OKC to include him. If they want him and he's willing to sign there, just offer sheet him. If Chicago wants to match, then nbd, move on to a better player. If Chicago is giving him up when signed to a team friendly contract for just Dieng, they are giving him up if you just overpay him a little.
I also really don't believe this interest. Because the "report" this is based on talks about how OKC has a pile of picks. Which would clearly not be applicable here. Almost certainly either a plant by his agent or just speculation.

Outside of having more Williamses, which is a strong argument, though he should be renamed to Jatrick at least, what would OKCs interest in him be?

Re: PWill for Dieng
This isn’t the army of firsts that Chicago was promised..
I honestly don’t mind this for OKC though. If it costs 25 million for Chicago not to match, but Patrick is willing to sign for 18-20? Losing Dieng is worth that. Especially, when you’re signing a guy that will keep Dieng on the bench?
The roster spot and extra 3 million in cap space is also maybe a smaller factor? Though I know you could trade Dieng else where..
Chicago should do it if they don’t believe Patrick will develop much more and should turn it down if they still believe Patrick is a two way tweener forward that has been miscast as a PF next to a poor defensive center.. (I lean with that honestly)

Re: PWill for Dieng
What kind of improvement does Dieng offer the Bulls? Dies he have more unrealized skills that have been held back in OKC?
Or is he just better to get than Williams because he's NOT on the Bulls right now?

PWill has clear talent, and could play a winning role. Somehow he needs to become less passive-not sure if that ever happens.
For the Bulls, they save a bunch of $ and get an ok prospect in Dieng-plus they get something for PWill (their failed #4 pick). Maybe OKC thinks PWill will develop more in their culture (totally possible), but they don't want to have to overpay to get him.
Or, as you said, maybe there's nothing to this rumor and the Bulls will overpay to keep him

Is "PWill" really his nickname? We can't do better than that?

I mean I'm not bidding on Williams until better players have already been gone so.....

then they still cant move on to better players either in your scenario if they are gone already
Of course they can. They start in free agency. Then they move on to trades which will still be available.
I mean I've got no interest in Williams for them at all. I think they shouldn't be wasting any time/money on a maybe. They should be going for more proven guys.
But say they have one or two targets in FA, don't get em. Presti likes Williams more than me and then makes an offer. Chicago matches. Okay, now you move on to trade targets. But I honestly just don't see Williams as a logical target here. Team is good now. And has so much youth.
