Probably a deadline deal since Toronto wants to see how O does with the team.

If Presti had wanted Olynyk he would have gotten him at the deadline by outbidding Toronto. Presti admitted at his end of season conference that he thought Hayward was the missing piece and that he doesn't care about getting outrebounded. He also said he was learning and spouted some words only an illiterate child would spout. "We made an appearance. We will arrive when we can replicate that." As any literate person knows the definition of arrive is to make an appearance. So the illiterate noob sad that OKC made an appearance and they will make an appearance when they can replicate that. The Thunder are no threat to win a championship as long as Presti is there. He'll trade his cap space away to move up in the draft or get a 2nd round pick and spout off about internal development without adding the stretch big man OKC needs because he wants to draft another PG or wing and will continue to wonder why the bigger teams dominate his.

I like him to the Raps. Have him as the primary ball hander and have Quickley play off ball. Use IQ and Scottie as the backup ball handers. Raps can draft a C at 19, use Olynyk as a stop gap or try to sign Claxton who has been on Masai's radar for a few seasons

Obviously I don't make this deal unless raps have another 5 in mind.

Giddey and Kenrich

For

Poeltl

Poeltl/Chet/Williams/Dort/SGA

Claxton/Barnes/Giddey/Barrett/IQ

I know ppl will complain about shooting but the 3 ball numbers of IQ/Barrett/Barnes were all improved last year and have lots of room to grow.

What else goes into it?

Presti gets a big body center and a starting forward. Brooklyn gets an unprotected first and a good second. Dallas gets the MLE and a bench creator and hopes Giddey develops before Kyrie declines?

I still think OKC passes. Just feeling the mood.

Okc fans didnt like the dfs sharpe for giddey trade iirc (i made a thread)

I had to look up that thread… I see one OKC fan not liking it and one OKC fan liking it. Then a bunch of talk about Giddey not talking about it.

But I could also see the point for OKC not giving up any value to get Sharpe since they’ll still have 25 million in cap space.

Giddey to Dallas
THJ, DFS, 2025 Dallas first to OKC
Toronto second and a couple other seconds to Brooklyn.

Presti upsets everyone by taking on salary again?

I think their fans rather hold onto to Giddey for this return

I completely expect Giddey to end up on the Spurs if traded..

He fits their need and timeline better than any other team in the league.

I think Giddey for Keldon works, or something close to that.

Could also be something bigger like:
Spurs get Giddey
OKC get 3rd team star
3rd team get Keldon+FRPs

im not sure keldon is even positive value at this point (he's negative to me) with 2 subpar seasons in a row after signing his extension and falling out of their starting lineup

I just meant player pieces, haven't worked out the value difference in FRPs. OKC would be star hunting, Keldon wouldn't be that star.

How about this?

Giddey for Stewart

Cade gets to play as a SF and OKC gets a banger who can also stretch the floor

DET - Giddey/Ivery/Cade/Thompson/Duren
OKC - Shai/Dort/JDub/Stewart/Chet

I think a straight swap would be fine. Nurk fits what's needed in OKC at the 5 quite well. He's tough, can rebound extremely well and is a decent passer. Giddey will fix the Suns need for a facilitator and with his size, we can play him at the 3 allowing Booker and Beal to stay as our guards. He should be able to get the other 3 guys great shots.

Problem is his defense, which nome of the other 3 play well either. We'd need quite the center to be able to fix all of the mistakes those guys make.

Giddey+ for Jimmy Butler is something I've loved for awhile. Thunder have the cap to pay him, the picks to bridge the gap in value for the trade and are deep enough to allow him to sit wherever he needs as they have kids thay need time to play and learn anyways.

Something like:

Giddey
Dort
2FRPs
3SRPs

Would make sense I think for both sides.

Spurs for Sochan
- Giddey playing P&R with Wemby will be very fitting
- Sochan skills in a PF's body will fit well with the Thunder

SAS - Giddey/Vassell/Johnson/Wemby/Collins
OKC - Shai/Dort/JDub/Sochan/Chet

I like this for OKC, but the last thing Detroit needs is another wing with a suspect shot.

The Nets should definitely give a call if Giddey gets available.
