What on the Pelicans roster would you trade for the 20th pick? Not much right? Then compare that to Murray.

NOP has all their own picks, and the LAL pick and can cross their fingers about Milwaukee.. So could make a real offer if you wanted to..

I think the lesser of the 2025 NOP or LAL 1st could be in play to upgrade this offseason. Would be cool for Griffin to really push chips in, multiple future 1sts for a real upgrade like Mitchell and Lauri. But knowing his conservative value ways, one near future 1st could be available, and the lesser of LAL/NOP 2025 still protects from missing out on Flagg/Bailey/etc. while still providing value to the other team.

The first in the OP was given top 4 protection for that reason.

Most likely the “better than first” is sitting between 12-16 range, or worse. But NOP shouldn’t have to risk paying Ingram and Bailey for DJM to get that deal done..

Only reason BI would be traded is because his contract demands would be difficult to meet and stay out of the tax. I do think he has more value than Murray though.
