Rumored bucks - warriors trade revisited

Rumoured to have been discussed at the deadline.

I think it makes so much sense for both sides:

Wiggins for portis

… im guessing connaughton’s salary would be needed to make it work!

This doesn't work financially.

Milwaukee can't really aggregate multiple players to take Wiggins either.

Yeah the apron rules basically make this DOA.

Portis/Connaughton make $22M, Wiggins makes $26M. So Milwaukee needs to add another $4M at a minimum so they don't get hard capped at the first apron, which they're already well over.

Then if they can figure that out, they're still hard capped at the second apron because they aggregated salaries to match Wiggins. Which means their roster is effectively Giannis/Dame/Middleton/Wiggins/BroLo and 9 minimum salary guys. Not a recipe for success when basically all of their key players have missed some time over the past couple years.

I think it would have worked at the trade deadline as some of these cap rules weren't in play yet. But it's no longer an option.
