Washington - Sacramento - Phoenix
Sacramento trade: Barnes, Mitchell, 13, POR 2025 2nd
Sacramento receive: Kuzma, 22
Phoenix trade: Little, 22
Phoenix receive: Mitchell, POR 2025 2nd
Washington trade: Kuzma
Washington receive: Barnes, Little, 13
Why for Washington: get a lotto pick for kuzma. keeps 26 in exchange for eating little's contract
Why for Sacramento: upgrade forward spot. their fans wanted 26 back in other threads, so here they add some minor value to get 22 instead of 26 back
Why for phoenix: get out of little's contract and add a pg/POA defender
Sacramento receive: Kuzma, 22
Phoenix trade: Little, 22
Phoenix receive: Mitchell, POR 2025 2nd
Washington trade: Kuzma
Washington receive: Barnes, Little, 13

If Phoenix is giving out a FRP to absorb Little's contract, I'd probably just jump on that and leave Sacramento out of it. The Wizards have a TPE to absorb that contract outright.
I'd still be open to a Kuzma to Sacramento trade, but it's going to cost them more than 9 spots in the draft.

How are you getting Mitchell (or another cheap contributor making less than Little) to send them? That's a not meaningless part of the deal for them.
I don't like this for the Suns because they need a bigger player, not another guard. But its tough trying to get a playable player for that asset, while asking a team to take Little and that has to make less than Little. Tough needle.
Good value for Washington here. And this is logical for the Kings as well.

So who are you sending who can play playoff minutes like Davion Mitchell?

The only matching salary for Phoenix is their big 3 [Beal/Booker/Durant].

Mitchell is replaceable. You can find a vet minimum guy like Kris Dunn or Jordan Goodwin to do the same thing. In fact, I think Kris Dunn might be a real possibility to sign there. He will probably be attracted to Phoenix as an ideal destination for his skillset - a place where he could play a meaningful role on a potential contender.

Sorry. I meant I'd be open to a Kuzma to Sacramento trade.

I mostly like this but the four spot difference in the twenties (22 vs 26 in the original ideas for Kuzma to Sac) is not worth all that’s being added. I’d say it’s Mitchell OR the ‘25 POR second (which is basically like a late first with no salary guaranteed) otherwise Sac needs to get a future second from someone - preferably Wash.

Been down this road a bunch, but if we can't get 26 back from Washington here that is a sticking point for me. I'd just cut Washington out at that point and take the Phx pick.

IMO this hasn't changed anything, send Little to us and just make this two deals.
Mitchell + Port 2nd for Little + 22
Barnes + 13 for Kuzma + 26
Kings leave with 22/26 to add to Huerter for another piece.

you would eat little's contract yourself?

I would. Kings aren't contenders, we need to find ways to improve. His contract is what 4% of the cap? Not going to kill us.
I'd of course look for a 3rd team same as here, but if Washington isn't willing to include 26 here that's a deal breaker for me. I've said it a bunch but I already dislike giving 13 for Kuzma. Dallas just got PJ who I like better, for a 2027 pick while making Charlotte eat a bad bloated 4 year contract (and got 2 2nds back themselves). Who am I bidding against for Kuzma that we should have to give up 13 straight?

If phx looking to save $, they should just not resign Oneale. Terrible value for a team with little draft assets..

Exactly this.
These are the types of trades the Kings need to make with the future in mind.
If they want to tread water for a couple of seasons then I think Kuzma is a choice you can live with in the hope that if you can accumulate assets along the way it can eventuate in that home run trade down the track.
The only change I make is it should be:
Mitchell + '25 + '26 Sac 2nd for Little + 22
Not sending out the Portland 2nd that has the potential to be #31 next year in a fairly loaded draft for 9 spots in this years while eating all that salary.
Barnes + 13 for Kuzma + 26
This is fine if the scenario is to tread water for 2 seasons and accumulate assets while still making the POs and who knows, you might get hot at the right time of the year and go on a run.
I would be trying to punt the #22 and the #26 for future 1st round picks.
