MEM/NY/NOP/ATL

Memphis trades Marcus Smart, Brandon Clarke
Memphis receives Julius Randle, AJ Griffin

Grizzlies go in for a new look, beefing up their frontcourt. Ja/Kennard/Bane/Randle/JJJ is a very balanced starting five, and one of the better Randle fits in the league in my opinion.

New York trades Julius Randle, Bojan Bogdanovic, #23, #24
New York receives Brandon Ingram, Brandon Clarke

The Knicks looked quite good without Randle, and use whatever value he has and their picks to significant upgrade the SF position and backup PF. Brunson/DDV/Ingram/OG/Hartenstein + Hart/Clarke/Robinson is a very solid top 8.

New Orleans trades Brandon Ingram
New Orleans receives Marcus Smart, Clint Capela, #24

The Pelicans double down on defense with a rim runner, rebounder, and rim protector at C next to Zion, and an elite defensive guard in Smart. CJ/Murphy/Herb/Zion/Capela + Jose/Smart/Marshall/Nance as a top 9 with even more depth behind them if Hawks and Daniels develop, not to mention two 1sts this year.

Atlanta trades Clint Capela, AJ Griffin
Atlanta receives Bojan Bogdanovic, #23

The Hawks hand the C position to Okongwu and Sarr, and gain a vet shooter and a pick. Bonus points for confusing every team in the league by collecting both Bogdanovic's. Trae/Murray/Hunter/Johnson/Sarr + Bogdanovic/the other Bogdanovic/Okongwu

(I generally avoid Randle trades because I know I don't value him like others do, but Memphis felt like a really good idea)

Memphis doesn't need to take this gamble. We don't need a offensive usage guy like Randle we just needs some tweaks around our main guys. Randle needs to go to a team that just wants to be respectable, I think we are beyond needing what he represents. And Memphis is not going to be able to afford Randle anyways after this year.

Should have kept avoiding Randle trades, I think Memphis makes zero sense. BTW Kennard is likely cut but you have him as a starter for us, he is behind Vince W and likely GG if he stays.

Pels should be aiming for a higher end player in return for Ingram. Not every GM is going to be petrified of Ingram walking and he is still a borderline All Star. I feel like Smart and Capela are on the downward half of their careers and this deal really doesn't make the Pels any better.

Why would the Knicks give up the better player & 2 1st for Brandon Ingram?

I don't think I'd want to spend so much on Ingram. Injuries hurt us during the playoffs and Ingram isn't known for his durability.
Why rely on nuance, facts and logic when you can bludgeon the other side with mindless repetition of "Duuur McDaniel's has potential :tooth and still be treated as if you were reasonable.

Memphis isn't just punting on Marcus Smart without seeing him next to Ja.

I think Randle is worth more than Ingram. He is, undoubtedly, the better player, and is on a cheaper contract.Bogdanvoic + 2 1sts for Clarke is very far off.

The New Orleans return is good and the Atlanta part is also a rich(er) return but not extraordinary.
