He's probably not worth No. 2, but the lottery covers a lot of ground. If the Hawks trade back for Nos. 4 & 8, I'd be very open to swapping No. 8 for Reaves if I were them.

He seems to overlap with what Bogdan already brings. I don't think he could pull #8.

#13/filler to Sac as a Monk replacement makes some sense.

#16/cap from Philly as an affordable 6th man that won't take too much of their cap could work.

End of the day the Lakers are not going to spin him off for a pick that will help them more than just keeping him. So unless there is some big trade that requires a 3rd team giving up value for him, I don't see him traded.

Was just thinking the same. But IMO the Kings would need something back. #17 is too much. Lakers 2nd not enough.
Could something be worked out like:
Sacramento In: Reaves/Rui
Lakers In: #13/Huerter/Player(s) from 3rd Team
3rd Team In: Barnes/'25 Port 2nd/'25 Sac 2nd

3rd Team Options: Strus? DFS? Nurkic? Clarkson/Yurtseven?

I'd venture a guess that every team picking outside the lottery would trip over themselves if they could get Reaves for their pick and a matching expiring contract. The odds of finding someone who is going to be even remotely as productive as Reaves is highly unlikely.

The Hawks aren't getting 4 and 8, but I would think the Spurs could have interest in 8 for Reaves and 17 depending on how the draft breaks down. Like if Sarr, Castle and Sheppard are gone at 4 and Dillingham is taken 8, maybe they go Risacher at 4, trade down to grab Reaves and get Collier at 17 with the understanding he's going to be in the d-league for a season.

Jones, Wesley, Collier
Vassell, Reaves, Branham
Risacher, Johnson, Champangie
Sochan, ______, Cissoko
Wembanyama, Collins, Bassey

Then it's just filling that backup PF role, and the rotation is set.

(No, I'm not trying to talk about how likely it is Risacher makes it to 4. I don't care. The Spurs will draft whomever they draft. I was just making a scenario where the team fails to bring a starting or backup PG in the draft, and that's not easy considering the depth the draft has at that position.)

We gave him the max we could

The only way he wouldve gotten more is if another team offered and then we would have matched since he was restricted

Nah, the reason is the CBA.

A team could have offered him more, but then it locks them into limbo for 48+ hours.

Lakers offered the max they could, and Reaves accepted it. Life changing money.

Reaves is a 4th starter on a title level team and is only making $12M a year, MPJ is making $35.8M, Aaron Gordon is making $23.8M, Jrue is making $30M, Tyler $29M... I could go on. The main thing is yea Reaves deal is an incredible steal and in a draft this weak I think he would be worth around the 5th pick.
