Random bad ideas continue.
Warriors: RJ Barrett and Kelly Olynyk
Warriors bring in a well paid young 20ppg body to put next to Curry who is under contract the same years as Green/Wiggins. Kelly is a great fitting big locked up for two years. The deal hard caps them at the second apron, so they could offer Klay 15-18 million by my finger math. Or work out a sign and trade for him. Or can move on from Moody, if you’re paying Klay to open up more room for him or to use the taxMLE and build a better full roster. No isea
Toronto: Chris Paul, Gary Payton, Looney, 2025 GSW first unprotected, 2026 swap (off of Indy’s first)
Toronto gets a swap and a first, while entering a rebuilding season and clearing their books after this season. Hope to start trying to win next year with a top 5 2025 first joining Barnes and IQ. They’re helping GSW get a better here, but Curry is 36 years old. So owning the next two years of their draft capital is great. Or they don’t tank in 2025 and trade CP for two Lakers. Or to Orlando for cap space. And keep the draft capital and see how IQ/Barnes do before picking a direction for next season.

I think warriors would eant to send out Wiggins in a Barrett trade

That can be a later trade? Not sure if this idea works with Wiggins in place of Paul, though I guess it should? Seems to be the same value for Toronto, though you have to bank on Wiggins actually holding a bit of value.
But not sure you can’t start Wiggins and RJ. Or bring one of the two off the bench? Maybe you can start Dray, Kuminga, Wiggins, RJ, Curry to take care of all the egos?
I like that better than just losing the talent of Wiggins?

I think on court they could fit but they might not want to pay all 3 of kuminga/wiggins/barrett >25M next year. same reason why i'm against wiggins/barrett together in Toronto.

Oh yeah. This is Lacob spending.
They won’t be over the second apron long enough to deal with the draft pick penalties. So it’s just is he willing to spend another 3 years for Curry?
And I think he is.
Year one, they’d stay under. Year two they’d be over the second apron. Year three, who knows what happens with Curry.

Re: Lacob spending. RJ and Olynyk
I may be getting fooled by a small sample size, but RJ looked pretty good in TOR last season: he thrived in the Serbian-style offence that Darko wants to run.
My ideal off-season for TOR is pretty modest: try and turn Brown/Trent/TPE/NTMLE into an asset or two that fit with Scottie Barnes timeline, but I'm OK with a fairly inactive off-season. I'd like to see how the current core looks (Play in? Lottery?) after a full training camp and the start of the season before deciding whether to pivot to a mini-tank for the back half of the season.

In a no-win argument, the first poster to Let It Go will at least retain some peace of mind
