I feel like I have to save this for every two to three weeks you bring this up here or on the Kings board but, he's in a place where he should care being around that Warriors legacy. Why would he care more here than around hall of famers in a market like the Bay Area?

Why can't we have both? Pretty sure with yesterdays move we could make this deal and still have money for the full MLE.

1. Wiggins is a much more in demand position
2. Both had down years. In an up year Wiggins was a 17/5 legit defender on a title team. Huerter was a 15/3 who played bad defense and struggled against better defenses in the playoffs.

The upside with Wiggins is much higher.

For these reasons I'd rather just keep Wiggins. Then my Huerter concern is that he crumbled in the playoffs vs. us in '23 (42.4% TS while looking nervous), and then there was no chance for redemption this last season with him injured for the play-in games. When Wiggins is off on O you're still getting good defense.

However if GS does trade for PG and has to pony up a max while somehow keeping Kuminga, I could see a move like this making since because Kuminga will need to extension. In this scenario Huerter making 9M-ish less and having one less year on his contract would matter.

Ya my initial premise is that GS is going to use CP3 to upgrade. So saving money with that in mind.

Duarte sucks imo and doesn’t offer the pistons anything. I’d want more compensation than 2 Sacremento 2nds for taking on a dud 27 year old player even if he is a $5m expiring.

Maybe so, would still ask for more compensation if it’s giving someone relief they need to get under the 2nd apron.
