Capela
for
Vuc
Bulls priority here is get out of Vuc's 2nd year to increase future flexibility. Capela is fine for a year if they bring back DD/LaVine go for play-in.
Hawks added two young defenders in the past couple days and still have OO as a defensive center. So they clear a little more tax breathing room and upgrade center.

It might sound silly, but this should definitely be framed as the Hawks taking Vuc into the Collins TE and sending out Capela to make a new TE.

Re: Simple center swap Hawks/Bulls
You say the Hawks upgrade at center but do we need to review the 500 posts about how Vucevic is an awful defender and has lost his shooting touch. While Capela is an excellent defender which the Bulls need now more than ever with Caruso's departure. And with Giddey at the PG lobbing to Capela there's some inside scoring.
On behalf of the Bulls I'd do it, provided the Bulls keep wanting to get younger. Still move DeRozan and Lavine, get some PF's, resign Williams and add shooters off the bench. They then have a year to find their next center, either this year's backup or next summer's FA, which could even be Capela at a much lower price tag.

It's not silly. TEams always structure deals to the best advantage. Appreciate you highlighting that as an option for them.

I might be mistaken, but I remember hearing that Atlanta absorbed Liddell, Daniels, and Nance into the Collins TPE and created a new one by sending out Murray.

Ah. If they didn't, they should have.

Re: Simple center swap Hawks/Bulls
Seems pointless for Atlanta, locking in a negative impact center for another year at big money for no real reason. On value I got Capela as small positive and Vuc as a moderate negative. Chicago is not close enough to anything relevant to add incentive either.

Hawks have used the JC TPE to absorb Larry Nance Jr and Dyson Daniels, with $6 million left.
They have subsequently created a new Dejounte TPE of $18.2 million.

Re: Simple center swap Hawks/Bulls
Bulls can throw in the Port 1st, which has A LITTLE more value now that Port added Deni and Clingon
But still, don’t see it for ATL. Only real think is OO can play with Vuc better than he can with Capela?
