Daniel Gafford is a center………..

Ahh. Thought he was a 4.
Still don't love the trade and sending BI to Dallas.

What rock are you living under? I’m not sure Daniel Gafford has played a single minute of his career at the 4, in sure he has at some point, but I would bet my house that of the 6825 minutes he has played NBA basketball it’s less than 48 minutes. Which leads to the larger question of how can you have such a strong opinion of the trade of you don’t even understand the best player your team is getting back.

Well I wasn't sure of his position so I Googled it and it says power forward. I just trusted the internet.
Ahh, I'm not aware of every player in the league.

You should try watching the games instead. He literally just started a playoff run to the finals at center.

What are you expecting in a return for Ingram? I think the rest of the league is lower on him than NO fans

A center at least, unless this is a trade that could be expanded to include one. Not particularly excited about trying to fit PFs into the center position all season.
This board is low on him but I don't think the rest of the league offices are that low. Most NO fans sound like this board and basically want to give him away.

Not trading with Dallas makes since. Never want to make the best team in the conference better.

But 2 rotation pieces, a quality starter at a position of need, and 2 1st is the biggest overpay I’ve seen on this board in a while.

I'm not sure how that's an overpay for what Ingram can do and his age. I think it's about on par.

There was a lot of chatter around his attitude on team USA during the World Cup. It was widely reported at the time that the other players and coaches weren’t thrilled with his pouting over his role. That perception filters through to front offices around the league.

I’d imagine it’s only a team desperate to be better that considers him (Philly, Phoenix, LA x 2, Charlotte) and even then most of those teams don’t have the contracts and/or assets to satisfy the Pels.

Not sure we have the assets but I think Detroit would definitely have interest.

It’s not even just about the player. It’s the contract situation.

Look at the package the Pels gave up for Murray- who’s under team control for multiple seasons on a team friendly contract.

Now think about that in relation to Ingram, who’s expiring and expects a massive extension it’s already widely known the Pels don’t want to give. That drives the asking price down- he’s going to get team-unfriendly very soon.

The value isn’t great. To me they either trade him at a reduced price or take their chances playing hardball with him on a new contract. It’s going to be hard to drive up his price on a trade.
